David A. Morisette

       David A. Morisette, age 73 of Chesterton, IN, passed away unexpectedly on April 4, 2026.  He was born on May 9, 1952, in Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, to Arthur and Thelma (Jackman) Morisette, both of whom preceded him in death. 

       On June 27, 1987, he married the love of his life, Ruth Branstator, who survives in Chesterton, IN. 

       He is also survived by his loving children, Whitney (Michael Manzo) Arrizola of Tennessee and Parker Morisette of Chesterton, IN; and by his adoring grandsons, Mark Arrizola and Ryan Arrizola. 

       In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Jonathan Arrizola; and his brothers, Bruce Morisette and Gary Morisette.

       David was employed at Amoco for years where he taught safety for hazardous chemicals and materials. He trained many first responders across the country throughout his employment.  He particularly enjoyed working with Skip Highwood of Chesterton, Indiana. He was very proud of all the people he helped and lives he saved. He was one of the lead hazmat and safety response managers across the country for train derailments, oil refineries, and oil rigs.  He was very proud to be the recipient of the Amoco Torch Award multiple times.  He was also very proud to be the author of multiple safety manuals used across the country.

       David loved motorcycles and fast cars.  He also loved racing and motorcycle rides. He enjoyed going to Leroy’s and spending time there with his friends. He will forever be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. 

        No services will be held.
