Crystal Caye (Fornshell) Metheny

       Crystal Caye Fornshell-Metheny, age 62 of Valparaiso, IN, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on March 8, 1958 in Valparaiso, IN to Lester William Fornshell Jr. and Ruth (Vickers) Wandrey, both surviving.

       In 2005, in Key West, FL, she married the love of her life, Roger Metheny, who survives in Valparaiso, IN.  She is also survived by her loving daughter, Allison (Paul) Dehnart of LaPorte, IN; her treasured grandchildren: Abrielle, Kayleigh, and Russell; her siblings: April Fornshell of LaPorte, IN, Bill (Gayle) Fornshell of Arthur, IL, and Chance Fornshell of Chesterton, IN; her niece, Arianna (Brandon) Helmken of LaPorte, IN; by her great-niece Adalyn Helmken; and by her sweet fur babies, Bella and Cissy.

       She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jeff Fornshell; her nephew, Brandon Fornshell; and by her maternal and paternal grandparents. 

       Crystal was a 1976 graduate of Chesterton High School, and was a Blue Chip dealer at Blue Chip Casino for several years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Roger, and especially loved scuba diving in Mexico. Reading was one of her favorite hobbies, and she would often be found tucked away with one of her favorite books in hand.  She also loved to go fishing with her husband.  Crystal will forever be remembered as a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. 

       Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 3 p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S 2nd St., Chesterton, IN.  The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.  

Mask and social distancing are required at all times inside and outside the funeral home.
