Corey S. Nicholas

       Corey S. Nicholas, age 36 of Chesterton, IN, passed away suddenly on July 27, 2024. He was born on October 23, 1987 in Oak Park IL to Katie (Thomas A.) Bachochin of Hobart, IN and G. Stephen Nicholas of Milwaukee, WI.

       On February 1, 2019 in the Dominican Republic, he married the love of his life, Jennifer (Laga) Nicholas, who survives in Chesterton, IN. He is also survived by his loving children, Cameron and Nora Nicholas; his mother-in-law, Marcia (Lester) Schlueter of Illinois; his father-in-law, Ken Laga of Oak Lawn, IL; his maternal grandmother, Jane Faerber of Illinois; and his paternal grandmother, Candace Nicholas of Illinois.
       He is also survived by his siblings: Jessica (Jeff) Henk of Crown Point, IN, Joseph (Ashlee) Nicholas of Illinois, Mags (Raul) Godinez of Virginia , Thomas G. (Kaila) Bachochin of Illinois, and Jaclyn (Kley) Abel of Illinois; special God Children and nieces, Aubrey and Elliana Henk; his nieces and nephews: Haylee Henk, Nico Caruso, Braydon Clark, Rylee Nicholas, Tyler Bachochin, Alejandro Godinez, Ezekiel Godinez, Andrew Abel, Aaron Abel, and Francis Battaglia; his brother-in-law, Joe (Beth) Laga of Illinois; nieces and nephews: Lexi, Corey, Riley, Mallory, and Zac; his special cousin, Danny Falbo; and by his aunts, uncles, and cousins.
       He was preceded in death by his sister, Rebecca; his brother-in-law, Kenny; his Aunt Deb; and his Uncle Tap.
       Corey was a member of Union Local 150. He was a Master Mason for 10 years and was a member with Men in Brotherhood Lodge 1178 of Elmhurst, IL, Local 150 Square Club. He was also a Medinah Shriner and a Knight Templar. He loved traveling, riding his Harley, boating, sports of all kinds and his Local 150. 

       He will forever be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, grandson, uncle, cousin, and friend.
       Private family services will be held at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S 2nd St., Chesterton, IN. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
