Cora Frances Williams, 100, passed away peacefully at home on September 8th, 2025. She was born on January 13th, 1925 in Portland, Oregon. Cora lived a full century marked by love, resilience, and a deep devotion to her family and community.
Cora was the cherished matriarch of her family - affectionately known as Mom, Grandma, GG, and GGG/Triple G. Her life was centered around the people she loved most. She is survived by her two daughters, Bonnie Williams Zosso (Ernie) and Cheryl Myers; grandchildren Coralee Poist (Mike), Leanne Little, Bill Poff (Nicole), Michael Zosso (Jenny), Andrea Proctor (Josh), Jenna Myers; great-grandchildren Tyler, Alyssa, Jacob, Shane, Jacob, Kaleb, Skye, Olivia, Sophia, Joey, Jessi, Julia, Zoe, and Leo; great-great grandchildren Elena, Hudson, Grayson, Maya, Abel, and Nico.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Leo Williams; her daughter Susan Arlene Williams; and her granddaughter Lacey Zosso.
Throughout her life, Cora found joy in the simple pleasures that brought people together. First and foremost, among these, was spending quality time with her family and fur babies. Her home was always a welcoming place filled with warmth and laughter.
Cora had an unmistakable flair for fashion. A self-proclaimed fashionista, long before the term became popularized, she delighted in selecting new outfits each season and took pride in staying stylish throughout every stage of her life.
Her generous spirit extended beyond her family circle into the broader community. Cora volunteered for many years with the American Cancer Society offering time and compassion to those in need. She also found camaraderie through the Red Hat Society where she formed enduring friendships that enriched her later years.
Never one to sit still long, Cora also danced with a local performance group that brought joy to others through their shows at nursing homes and annual appearances at the state fair. Her energy and enthusiasm were contagious; she brought light into every room she entered.
Cora’s legacy is one of strength, elegance, and unwavering love. She leaves behind generations which will carry forward not only her memory but also the values she embodied.
She loved to sing and had a beautiful voice. Her favorite song to sing was “Que Sera Sera.”
In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Cora may be given to the Independent Cat Society, 4061 S County Line Rd, Westville, IN 46391.
