Charles (Chuck) Hall Sr., 87, of Chesterton went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 1st, 2022. He passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side. Chuck was born on May 15, 1934 in Alexandria, Alabama.
He married the love of his life, Nola Watkins, on December 10, 1955. They just celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary.
Chuck worked at US steel until he retired in 1988. After his mill retirement he worked part-time at Ace Hardware.
Chuck was an avid fisherman. He loved “tinkering” around in the garage and was always willing to lend a hand to help anyone. He didn’t know a stranger. He was frequently visiting the local gas stations to chat and pick up his “moo juice’ and scratch offs. He had a Native-American heritage so he loved to scour the corn fields for Arrowheads. He had quite the collection.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife Nola, son; Charles Hall Jr. of Chesterton, daughters; Karla (Ken) Biesboer and Rochelle Hawkins both of Chesterton. Grandchildren; Curtis Fulton, Stephanie Hall (Andy), Nicole (Jason) Moloney, Charles (Ashley) Hall, Alisha Hall, and Tamara Hall. Great-grandchildren: Gavin, Taylor, Ben, Alexis, Gage, Dakota, Jarad, Sheyanne, Iain, Kaiti, Ocean, Brodie and Phoenix, sister Wendolynn.
He was preceded in death by his sister Mary Jo, daughter; Joan Barbee and grandson Chad Hall.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 9-11 a.m. at White-Love Funeral home with a service starting at 11. Burial to follow at Chesterton Cemetery.
