Carolyn June (Harding) Miller

       Carolyn June Miller, age 96 passed away on Wednesday May 22nd, 2024 at Brentwood assisted living community in Elkhart Indiana (previously Portage IN, Rockport TX ). Carolyn was born May 9th, 1928 in Gary, Indiana to the late Earl and Lillian Beatrice Harding. Was a 1946 graduate of Horace Mann High School. She worked in the clerical department of Inland Steel; retiring after 30 years. Early on Carolyn had been a member of the U.S. Steel Choir. Prior to leaving Northwest Indiana she was an active member of American Business Women’s

Association, a member of Augsburg Lutheran Church, Porter IN where she also sang in the choir and had volunteered at the Portage food pantry. She enjoyed being a member of the Red Hats, traveling, playing cards, especially pinochle and euchre, and most importantly her family.

       She is survived by her two daughters Jennifer (Don) Graves, and Sharon Totten. Also survived by her beloved grandchildren Kristin (Martin Breth) Brethova, Matthew Totten, Andrew Graves and Amanda Graves.

       In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her daughter Lucinda, brother and sister-in-law Donald (Ann) Harding, granddaughter Emily Graves, and several cherished West Highland Terriers.

       Funeral viewing is scheduled at 11am-12 noon, with church service immediately to follow at White-Love Funeral Home, Chesterton. Pastor Erik Bernth of Augsburg Church officiating. Burial at Graceland Cemetery Valparaiso Indiana. Flowers, or donations to the dog charity of your choice may be made.
