Obituary
Carl L. Hart Jr., age 91 of Chesterton, IN passed away peacefully on December 31, 2021. He was born on January 25, 1930 to Carl L. Hart Sr. and Manerva Olivia (Mason) Hart, both of whom preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving children: Michael (Denise) Hart of Chesterton, IN, Craig (Michelle) Hart of Chesterton, IN, Carl L. (Donna) Hart III of Chesterton, IN, Cathy Johnson of Portage, IN, Vicki (Robert) Ream of Chesterton, IN, and Darla (Billy) Griffith of Chesterton, IN; his grandchildren: Jonathan Hart, Heather Scott, Ryan Begg, Brandon Hart, Tristan Hart, Samantha Marsh, Jeremy Johnson, Charity Girgenti, Michelle Levy, Jennifer Ream, Natalie House, Cody House, Shannon Feidler, Christopher Holst, Brian Holst, and Aaron Holst; his 17 his great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and by his sister, Shirley Cox of McRae, AR.
He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Darlene Mae Clem Hart on July 24, 2012; his daughter, Diane Holst; his grandson, Matthew Johnson; his granddaughter, Bobbie Jo Whitenack; and his brother, Delmar Mason.
Carl loved gardening and raising and selling day lilies.
A Graveside Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 7, 2022 at Chesterton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S 2nd St., Chesterton, IN. Masks are highly recommended inside the funeral home.
