Bradley "Brad" Stewart Obituary

 

Bradley, Brad, Stewart, 70, of Lowell, IN, passed away at home surrounded by love early on Saturday morning, February 1, 2025, after a battle with cancer.

Brad was a beloved teacher and football coach. He graduated from Ball State University with a Masters in History. He spent 32 years teaching and coaching at Lowell High School, helping take the Red Devil football team to multiple trips to State and a State Championship in 2005. He was the head football coach at Kankakee Valley High School from 2011-2015. Over these years, he greatly impacted the lives of students and athletes all over Northwest Indiana.

Outside of work, Brad loved to travel with his wife, Patty, to historic sites and national parks all over the country. What Brad loved most of all was spending time with his family. Enough can never be said about how loved he was.

He is survived by his wife Patty, mother, Donna Stewart, brother Greg (Deb) Stewart, sons, Jefferson (Meredith) Stewart and Eric Stewart, step-children, Mike (Julie) Kalvaitis, Matt (Jenanne) Kalvaitis, Jeremy (Jennifer) Kalvaitis and Elisabeth (Jake) Woodworth. He is also survived by 11 beloved grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Stewart.

A Celebration of Life will be held on February 12, 2025, at Sheets Funeral Home from 3 to 7 PM with a brief memorial at 7 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wounded Warriors or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
