Betty Joan (Williams) Ratliff

       Betty Joan Ratliff, age 85 of Chesterton, IN, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on September 11, 1937 in Gary, IN to Mike and Betty (Laszlo) Williams, both of whom preceded her in death. 

       On November 22, 1958 in Porter, IN, she married the love of her life, Perry “Bill” William Ratliff, who preceded her in death on December 14, 2018.  

       She is survived by her loving daughter, Katherine (Bert) Miller of Chesterton, IN; her treasured grandchildren: Alexandra (Nick) Guzik of Franklin, IN, Albert (Kirstyn) Miller of Chesterton, IN, Madelaine Miller of Chesterton, IN, and Mary Miller of Indianapolis, IN; her adoring great-grandchildren: August, Alden, Arthur, Genevieve, and Theodore; her sisters, Norma (John) Jackson of LaPorte, IN and Theresa (Danny) Martin; and by her several nieces and nephews.

       In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Madelaine (Williams) Killosky in September of 2006.

       Betty was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  She enjoyed being a member of the Order of the Eastern Star organization in past years.  She loved watching her grandchildren grow up and have their own children.  Her great-grandchildren lovingly knew her as G.G.

       Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 1 p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S 2nd St., Chesterton, IN with Father Jerry Schweitzer officiating.  The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
