Beatrice D. (Kampenga) Frieske

       Beatrice D. Frieske, age 90 of Chesterton, IN, passed away on August 1, 2024.  She was born on January 25, 1934 in Chicago, IL to John and Emma (Ropke) Kampenga.   

       On April 23,1955, she married William Pazdro also of Chicago, who died in 1984.   They made their home in Chicago where they raised 4 children.  She was an active member of Calvary Lutheran Church.  Her sons taught her to drive when she was in her 40's and she worked for many years in the Chicago Public Schools.

       On June 25, 1989, she married Herman Frieske, who survives in Chesterton, IN.  She is also survived by her loving children: Rochele (Ken) Bennett of Schaumburg, IL, Scott Pazdro of Lockport, IL, Russell (Suzie) Pazdro of Corinth, VT,  and Curt Pazdro of Morris, IL; her step-children: William (Francine) Frieske of Chicago, IL, Thomas (Robyn) Frieske of Lake Carroll, IL, and Mary Ann Kallianis of Evergreen, IL; 12 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

       In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, William Pazdro; her sisters,  Eleanor Labney and Mildred Dreschel; her stepson, James Frieske; her step-grandchild, Will Frieske; and by her daughter-in-law, Judy Pazdro.

       She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church for many years, where she was a member of LUCA and sang in the church choir.  She loved spending time with family, going out to lunch, and watching the sunset at the beach.

       Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2050 W 1100 N, Chesterton, IN with Pastor Ruth Popkin officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will take place on Thursday at Bethania Cemetery, Justice, IL.
