Barbara "Barb" (Banks) Fagerstrom

       Barbara “Barb” Fagerstrom, age 72 of Porter, IN, passed away on May 28, 2025. She was born on August 21, 1952, in Hammond, IN to Randall and Jeanette (Paul) Banks, both of whom preceded her in death. 

       On June 26, 1971, at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, she married the love of her life, William Fagerstrom, who survives in Porter, IN.

       She is also survived by her sister, Linda (Robert) Watts; her in-laws: Patrick (Terri) Fagerstrom, Janine Atchison, Jane (Bernie) Hayman, and Jim Roles; her special high school friend, Pam Watts; her special nieces and nephew, Jan, John, and Joellen; and by many nieces and nephews.

       In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers: Phil Banks, Tom Banks, and Mike Banks. 

       Barb was a member of Saint Patrick Catholic Church. She was a employed at Kmart for 21 years and was a secretary at Conomos Painting for 10 years. She loved gardening, flowers, macrame, puzzles, garage sales. She was also an avid bird watcher. Barb will forever be remembered as a wonderful wife, sister, aunt, and friend.

       Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 12 p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S 2nd St, Chesterton, IN. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.
