Barbara (Brandt) Williams

       Barbara Williams, age 92 of Chesterton, IN, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025.  She was born on February 25, 1932, in Chesterton, IN to Norman and Lillian (Pliske) Brandt, both of whom preceded her in death. 

       She is survived by her loving daughters: Nancy Williams of Chesterton, IN, Karen (Jeff) Leonard of Porter, IN, Sarah (Mike) Shepperson of Michigan City, IN, and Lisa (Kirk Kubik) Jageman of LaPorte, IN; her 13 grandchildren: Kara Leonard, Emily (Shane) West, Ryan McGary, Molly (Ryan) Shidler, Elizabeth (Austin) Arnold, Kathryn Shepperson, Matthew Jageman, Myles Jageman, Jacob Williams, Joshua Williams, Abigail Williams, Zachary Williams, and Melissa Williams; and by her 12 great-grandchildren.

       In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, William “Jim” Williams on July 15, 2012; and by her two beloved sons, Mark Williams in 2022; and Paul Williams in 2024.  

       Barbara was a faithful member of Augsburg Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she belonged to the Ladies Aide.  She enjoyed playing cards, loved her birds, enjoyed taking pictures, and was an avid gardener.  Her family was the most important thing to her.  She will forever be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. 

       A private family service will be held at Augsburg Evangelical Lutheran Church.
