Alice Nale

       Alice Nale, age 76 of Porter, IN, passed away unexpectedly on April 21, 2026.  She was born on July 27, 1949, in Cincinnati, OH to Vincent and Dorothy (Wesselman) Hoernschemeyer, both of whom preceded her in death. 

       On August 18, 1989, she married the love of her life, William “Bill” Nale, who survives in Porter, IN.  She is also survived by her loving children: Michelle Tarullo of Jacksonville, FL, Stephanie (Stephen) Karras of Ocala, FL, Paul (Darlene) Nale of Michigan City, IN, and Jamie Copollo of Porter, IN; her adoring grandchildren: Jordon Karras, Adrian Karras, Kyle Karras, Colin Nale, River Nale, Zachary Copollo, and Anthony Copollo; and by her treasured great-grandchildren: Oliver Karras and Aubrey Karras.

       Alice was a 1967 graduate of Horace Mann High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from St. Joseph College.  Alice was the Radiology Manager at St. Mary Hospital for several years. She was also active in the community, serving as a member of Tri Kappa and also playing an intricate role in the Wizard of Oz Festival for several years. 

       She was incredibly active in her children’s lives. She enjoyed being a parent chaperone in the Trojan Guard and was a wonderful Show Choir Mom.

       Going to Disney World with her family was one of her favorite vacations.

       A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from noon until 4 p.m. at the Moose Lodge, 602 Broadway Ave, Chesterton, IN.
