The children's grief program at the VNA Phoenix Center provides support in a safe and compassionate environment for grieving children, teens, young adults and their families.
Peer support groups and activities at the center are facilitated by specially trained volunteers under the direction of a bereavement supervisor. Volunteer facilitators undergo an initial interview, background check and 25 hours of initial training and ongoing continuing education.
Children participating must be accompanied by an adult, a parent, guardian or other adult family member. The accompanying adult is also provided with opportunities for group support and networking during the time the child is participating in the program.
The program is offered free of charge and without geographic boundaries.VNA Phoenix Center
