Norida (Senich) Rainey

       Norida Rainey, age 85 of Chesterton, IN, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on June 21, 1938 in Monessen, PA to John and Helen (Banas) Senich, both of whom preceded her in death. 

       On June 24, 1961 in Monessen, PA, she married the love of her life, Joseph Rainey, who survives in Chesterton, IN. 

       She is also survived by her loving children: Alan Rainey of Indianapolis, IN, Karen Rainey of Chesterton, IN, and Barbara (Scott) Rainey; her treasured grandchildren: Joey, Alyssa and Eleni; her sister, Martha (Joseph) Righetti of Monessen, PA; her nephews, John Righetti of Pittsburgh, PA and Robert (Lynn) Righetti of Columbus, OH; and by her niece, Joann (John) Kronz of Clayton, NC.

       Upon graduating from Monessen High School in 1956, Norida returned to work there as a school secretary. After her marriage in 1961, she moved to Chesterton with her husband and started her family. She worked as a media secretary at Westchester Middle School in the Duneland School Corporation from 1986 - 2008 at which time she retired to be a devoted Grandmother.

       Norida always had a smile for everyone. She really enjoyed crocheting, spending time with her family, spoiling her grandchildren, and she was an expert at classic TV and movie trivia. 

       Private family services will be held, and a celebration of life will be done at a later time.
