Stephanie Jean Miller age 69 of Chesterton, IN passed away on Wednesday, March 18,  2020 after a 3-year battle with cancer. 

She was born on Oct 2 1950 in Gary, IN to Steve and Caroline (Drag) Zaparucha. Stephanie is survived by her husband of almost 50 years James T. Miller, and siblings Carol Goldsmith of Portage, IN; Mary Lou (Bob) Judis of Clarksburg, MD; Tim (Judy) Zaparucha of Burns Harbor, IN.

She is also survived by her 3 sons, Brent (Melinda) Miller of Evansville, IN; Michael (Jillian) Miller of Baltimore, MD, and Jeffrey (Maria) Miller of Chicago, IL and 4 grandchildren Emily, Erin, Dalen and Harper.

Stephanie graduated from Portage High School in 1968. She attended Vincennes University from 1968-1970 studying elementary education.  She was crowned Miss Portage in 1968 and Miss Vincennes University in 1970.

Stephanie worked as a park administrator, a school bus driver, a dining room supervisor at Sand Creek Country Club and a devoted wife and mother.

Stephanie enjoyed working in the yard and planting flowers.

VERY SAD TO HERE THE NEWS OF THE PASSING OF Stephanie J. (Zaparucha) Miller.. WE STARTED SCHOOL TOGETHER AT OLD IVANHOE IN BRUNSWICK AND GRADUATED AT PORTAGE HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 68.

I am very, very sorry for your loss. Stephanie was a truly wonderful person. Those of us who knew her were made better by her presence in our lives. My deepest condolences to all of her family.
